Update
It's been a week since I last wrote so I wanted to write and let you know what's been happening.

We didn't get through to social services until Monday afternoon but we explained the situation and our concerns to them. They knew of the family but didn't have up to date information on them so they thanked us for that and said they would look into it.

Then all went quiet! The daughter has been to Patverums all week so we knew from that that the children hadn't been removed from their home.

Today Dace (my social worker who's dealing mostly with this family) got a phone call from the mum saying that social services had been in touch with her. As we understand at the moment nothing has been done. We just have to wait and see what happens. She told us that again her husband has been drinking and abusing her. But on a positive note we do know though that she has been to the doctors this week, which is great as their are a number of health issues she needs help with so a step in the right direction!

This afternoon both children attended the centre. It's the first time this month that the son has been so it was lovely to see him.

Thanks for the comments regarding this - we really appreicate your prayers. All of us have struggled with reporting this family but as the week's gone on I know I've felt God's peace about it all and I know that they are 'in his hands'!
