The Sabile Adventure!
On Thursday we went on our overnight trip to Sabile and as you will see from the photos we had a great time! 13 children came with us and we didn't stop going from one activity to another.
As planned we took the children on a summer toboggan run and horse riding. They loved it and I think all would have had more goes if the budget had allowed it! As well as this the children swan in the river, we went around a modern sculpture park, had fun in a 'fairytale forest' playing organised games in 2 teams, and zooming across a river on a zip line!
When it came to bedtime the staff and I decided to leave them in the school gym we were staying in and let them go mad! We sat outside enjoying the country night sky and tried to ignore the running, screaming and general sound of chaos coming from inside! Once we came back in it took a while for them to settle and at 1.30am I finally got out of my sleeping bag and walked around the gym like a tired policewomen, shining my phone light at those who were making noise, by 2am all were quiet! Come the morning we did have some very tired children and some needed extra help getting out of bed by way of a little bed shower!!!
It was wonderful to be able to give them a real chance of adventure as for all the children they did at least one new thing. For some all of it was new :-)
God really blessed us by keeping us safe from any injures and gave us great weather too!
